Not everyone has the opportunity to enroll in a computer science degree. For many people — myself included — the path to learning programming looked like this: YouTube tutorials that made sense while you were watching, but left you staring at a blank editor the moment the video ended. Online courses with completion certificates that meant nothing when someone asked you to actually build something. No tutor nearby to answer questions. No mentor to tell you when you were thinking about it wrong.

That experience shaped CodeForge.

We built CodeForge on a simple belief: everyone deserves access to the kind of learning that used to require an expensive degree, a prestigious bootcamp, or knowing the right people. The fundamentals of computer programming should be accessible to anyone willing to put in the work — regardless of where they live, what they can afford, or what their background looks like.

The timing has never been more important. We are living through the most significant shift in software development in a generation. Large language models and AI coding tools are changing what it means to be a developer. The engineers who thrive in this new landscape won't be the ones who memorize syntax — they'll be the ones who understand how to think through problems, evaluate AI-generated code critically, and know when the machine is wrong.

CodeForge teaches both. Not just programming — but how to program alongside AI. How to use it as a tool without becoming dependent on it. How to stay sharp in a world where the bar for entry is rising faster than most education platforms can keep up.

The Socratic tutor doesn't give you answers because real understanding doesn't come from answers. It comes from the moment something clicks — when you work through a problem and realize you actually got there yourself.

That's what we're building. A platform where that moment happens more often, for more people, regardless of their starting point.
